Investing in our Humana employees
The Humana Foundation highlights the hard work of Humana employees who invest their own time and money into their communities. Our primary programs include the Humana Foundation Scholarship, Matching Gifts, and Volunteering. We’re proud to recognize employees across the entire Humana organization.

Humana Employee Matching Gift Program
When Humana employees donate to an eligible nonprofit, the Humana Foundation matches the donation dollar-for-dollar, up to an employee’s annual $500 limit. All Humana employees are eligible to participate in the Matching Gifts Program.
Together, Humana employees and the Humana Foundation create a real community impact through donations and matching gifts.
2022 – $2.2 million in matching donations
2021 - $1.2 million in matching donations
Double Match Days
On two specific dates, the Humana Foundation hosts Double Match Days. This program focuses on doubling a donation match.
For example, if an employee donates $100 to an eligible nonprofit during a Double Match Day, the Humana Foundation will make a $200 donation to that same organization.
On the first Double Match Day of 2023 (March 5) Humana and CenterWell employees contributed a combined impact of more than $800,000 for nonprofits.

Employee Volunteering Benefits
Humana Inc. and the Humana Foundation recognize the importance of giving back and the positive effect volunteering has on the health of our communities.
With volunteerism rooted deeply in our workplace culture, Humana employees have volunteered more than 1.3 million hours in their respective communities since 2019.
Dollars for Difference
Humana employees make an impact in their communities year-round by giving their time to a variety of different organizations.
The Humana Foundation honors the efforts of those employees by providing $10 for every hour an employee volunteers, up to an annual cap. The employee can then donate those funds to the nonprofit of their choice.
Volunteer of the Year Award
Each year, the Humana Foundation honors a volunteer for extraordinary service. The award recipient receives a $10,000 Humana Foundation grant to donate to a nonprofit of their choice.
Employees who volunteer a minimum of 150 hours between Jan. 1 – Nov. 1 of the current calendar year are eligible to win the award.
Spirit of Philanthropy Award
The Spirit of Philanthropy Award is given annually to a department or group of Humana employees who display exceptional commitment as community volunteers.
Following a company-wide nomination process, the recipient of the prestigious award is presented with a $25,000 Humana Foundation grant to give to their favorite nonprofit organization.
Volunteer Time Off
Volunteer Time Off allows for paid time off from work to volunteer for activities that positively impact the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
Full-time employees are eligible for eight hours and part-time employees are eligible for four hours of Volunteer Time Off per calendar year.
