Humana Volunteer Network Associate Recognition Programs

Get involved, give back, make a difference

Humana recognizes the importance of giving back and the effect it has on the health of our communities, including our own associate community. Since 2007, through the Humana Volunteer Network, Humana associates have contributed thousands of hours to the communities in which we live and serve.

The Humana Foundation recognizes associates for their commitment to volunteer service through several grant opportunities.

Recognition

Humana's Dollars 4 Doers Drawing

The Humana Foundation recognizes associate volunteers by giving them a chance to win a $4,000 grant for the nonprofit organization where they volunteer. Entering the drawing is as easy as volunteering and logging hours.

How the Dollars 4 Doers drawing works:

  • Humana associates who volunteer at least four hours per month during a quarter will be entered into a drawing
  • The two winning associates whose names are drawn will be able to designate a $4,000 grant to the nonprofits where they volunteer
  • The drawing occurs after the close of each quarter

Humana Volunteer of the Year Award

Each year, the Humana Foundation honors one Humana associate who demonstrates an ongoing dedication to his or her community.

How the Humana Volunteer of the Year Award works:

  • Associates who log at least 150 volunteer hours on the Humana Volunteer Network between the first of each year and November 1st are eligible to apply
  • The selected associate receives the opportunity to designate a $10,000 grant from the Humana Foundation to the nonprofit where he or she volunteers. Visit the Humana Volunteer Network to log your hours and become eligible for this award

The Spirit of Philanthropy Award

The Spirit of Philanthropy Award is a distinction given to a group or department of associates who display exceptional commitment to the community through volunteerism. Awardees are recognized and given the opportunity to select a nonprofit organization for a $25,000 grant from the Humana Foundation.

Examples of philanthropic commitment include hours dedicated to regular volunteerism, charity bike rides or walks, skills-based nonprofit support, and community problem-solving assistance. The award is given during the year as groups are identified.

To nominate a deserving team please contact the Humana Foundation and encourage all team members to record their volunteer hours on the Humana Volunteer Network website for the Foundation’s review.
