Thought Leadership Series

At The Humana Foundation we know that achieving one’s best health is not at all easy for far too many people in our communities. This is why we are taking a hard look at how the Foundation operates to find new ways to make a more sustainable impact in the communities we serve.

The Humana Foundation launched a new Thought Leadership series in 2018 to explore social connection and the other social determinants of health, and spark innovative and collaborative thinking.

  • Robert Egger, founder of the holistic model at LA KitchenDC Central Kitchen and the Campus Kitchens Project, led our first event. Robert grew up in Louisville, Humana’s corporate headquarters, and has partnered with many organizations in our hometown and across the nation. He has earned his reputation for being a catalyst of collaboration and innovation across all sectors to co-create solutions that focus on high-quality nutrition, job creation and meeting the needs of the rapidly growing senior population. Check out this video to hear his perspective.

  • Dr. Stephanie Cacioppo, an assistant professor at the University of Chicago in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience Department, lead a Thought Leadership event focused on how and why the brain forms, maintains and restores lasting healthy relationships. Check out this video to hear her perspective on social connection.

The Humana Foundation will announce its next Thought Leadership session soon – because joining forces with like-minded entities can result in more impactful, broad-based and sustainable change.
